The Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, Portugal is an amazing place to visit. The masonic simbols are everywhere, it is believed some rituals took place at the Initiation Well. With a vast garden it is a delight not to miss. Better to go during the week and spend there about 2 hour minimum.

Quinta da Regaleira
The property was bought in 1840 by the Baroness da Regaleira the daughter of Alfredo Allen, a very wealthy business man from Porto. The estate was then transformed into an elegant summer retreat with the main house and a chapel.
In 1893 it was sold at a public auction by António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro (1848-1920), a man of vast culture. He then added surrounding plots of land giving it the present pentagonal outline of the property boundaries.
Carvalho Monteiro, influenced by the Neo-Manueline style of the time soon dedicated time to the construction of the palace and the chapel from the structural and decorative details of the Pena Palace and the Neo-Manueline architecture style of the Palacio do Buçaco designed by the scenographer-architect Luigi Manini in 1848-1936.
The project was completed in 1911.
