Design Fashion Museum – MUDE
The Design Fashion Museum is located at the bottom central Lisbon. The MUDE is a contemporary modern museum, free entrance, where you can see and discover objects that made design and fashion history, during last century. The world history of design and fashion at the heart of Lisbon city.

MUDE ground floor focuses the history of fashion and design from 1924, the beginnings to the present day. Style, needs and functionality leading to the creation and study of new objects.
MUDE 1st floor – temporary exhibitions.
One of the masterpieces – The gorgeous Bocca sofa, an icon from the 1970s. Nowadays, only about 1000 of these sofas exist around the world.
It is from a strong red, inspired on the sex-symbol Mae West, admired by Salvador Dalí, who designed the original piece in 1936. Years after, an Italian designer from Studio 65 made it famous.
The pieces were collected by Francisco Capelo, who then sold it in 2003.
It was previously on display at the CCB – Centro Cultural de Belém in Belém before moving to Rua Augusta, and there replaced by another great art collection the Berardo Museum Contemporary Art Collection.

Design Fashion Museum Collection
The design fashion museum collection as about 2,000 design pieces, counting with furnishings, jewellery, glassware and 1,200 fashion objects, organized by three main sections: luxury, pop and cool.
Works of Jean Prouve, Alessandro Mendini, Droog Design, Hans Wegner, Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Ray Eames, Olivier Morgue, Phillipe Starck, Charles Eames, George Nelson, Arne Jacobsen, Paul Henningsen, Vener Panton, Henning Koppel, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano, Pierre Balmain, Paco Rabanne, Andre Courreges, Rudi Gernreich, Vivienne Westwood, and Yves Saint Lauren among others.
